PORO extra-thick woollen socks are crafted from start to finish in Helsinki, Finland, by Helsingin Villasukkatehdas at their own factory. Each pair is hand-inspected and proudly carries the Key Flag symbol, certifying it is made in Finland.

Extra warm and breathable, PORO combines natural insulation with a soft, cosy feel. Its chunky knit and gentle ribbed cuff are designed to stay comfortable without feeling restrictive, making it ideal for all-day wear, whether at home, layered with footwear, or relaxing at the cottage.

Knitted from mulesing-free New Zealand and British wool, and blended with Finnish sheep wool, the yarn is spun in Jämsä and reinforced with polyamide for lasting durability.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Gentle care will help your wool garment stay beautiful and last longer.
Gentle washing: When washing, use wool detergent on a delicate cycle at 30°C, with a light spin.
Drying: Do not tumble-dry, as it can damage wool fibres. Instead, gently shape the garment while damp and lay it flat to dry, preferably on a towel.
Ventilation: Wool rarely needs to be washed, as the fibre naturally repels dirt and odours. Regular airing in fresh air removes smells — even smoke or sweat — and greatly reduces the need for washing. Ventilation is also the most important maintenance measure for wool socks and accessories.
Spot cleaning: Wool garments do not always need a full wash if they get dirty. Stains are best treated immediately by hand-washing the affected area.
Machine washing: When a full wash is needed, always use a laundry bag, wool detergent (pH 7 or less), and a 30°C wool/delicate cycle with the lightest spin.
Please note: Wool is a natural fibre that provides softness and warmth but may wear faster than synthetic or cotton materials under heavy abrasion — a natural quality of this eco-friendly, comfortable material.
